A New York Times Bestselling Author

He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart - until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne di Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue.

What Customers Say About Beyond The Highland Mist:

You shouldn't go into any Hinglander series expecting Outlander, it's like going into a book about wizards expecting 'Harry Potter.'That being said, I love this series. This series is awesome. I had a few issues with the first 2 books, but the 3rd and 4th sold me and I'm hooked. I went into this series after reading all the reviews like 'don't read this if you love Outlander.'. well that's just silly. Give it a chance and don't expect the epic-ness of Outlander, expect fun and fairytale like love. that's why we read this stuf isn't it.

And I found this book very entertaining. When I first looked at the ratings for this book, I was surprised at the number of one star rankings. It held my interest through the twists and turns of the plot and kept me going to see what happened next. But the number of five star ratings tells the true story and I place my vote with them. I read to be entertained as opposed to analyze a book like a high school English teacher. Yes, it was hard to put down, and thus my five star rating as a good entertaining book. But if you want to analyze the book, the main character development is sufficient that we develop empathy for the main characters and root for them, there is a love-hate triangle to pull the plot this way and that, the plot is not predictable resolved until the end of the book, and there is the fanciful element of fairies and time travel woven into the plot for added interest. All in all, the book has a number of desirable elements which makes it a hit in addition to the fact that it is an entertaining and enjoyable read.

Key points were not fleshed out and lacked in the telling. My first K M Moning book and I found the writing rather choppy and heavy. For me, the story had many opportunities not taken advantage of. The romantic he-chases-and-she-runs bit was done to death, and I found this book easy to put down. There were a few moments of interest and I plan to try the next in series as an audio book, that way I can work while I listen and not waste my time.

I had to skip to the end of this one for it took far too long for the characters to quit fighting and enjoy the adventure. If I would have read this as the first book I would not have been impressed with Karen M. This story is aggravating, with the hero and heroine constantly fighting. If I'm going to read fiction I would rather characters that enjoy their time together. I hope she continues the Highlander series. The later novels are so much better.

Karen M. Moning. The rest of the series is great. In those the main characters face an adventure together which I find much more enjoyable. There is enough aggravation and discord in reality. Moning is a talented writer.

It's the best.

By the time I got to the middle of this book I wanted to screech with agitation, frustration and impatience. I gave it two stars because it had a good idea for the story. I assume she is trying to stay true to the romance formula but really this took it too far.

The silly assumptions and mis-communications ruined what could have been a really good story line. Unfortunately, it fell too close to my read of Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon and that's like comparing Stephen Hawking to a first grade primer. NO ONE could be as stupid and misbegotten as these two people.

How can people who read these books be satisfied with the same plot over and over again.I ran out of other fantasy paranormal books so I turned to this one. I know Ms. Moning has to be a better writer than this.

I'm going to try and remember that frutration the next time I'm tempted to read a romance again. I'm just sorry she couldn't flesh it out better.
